Wears a tinfoil hat Blind to Pageviews

:icontalescaper:
This is one fine example of technical excellence in photography. Of course, the subject matter is somewhat cliché and looks more like an advertisement in a travelguide, but it does that well. The perspective and composition, as others have pointed out, are very well chosen, although they are a bit obvious. I like to see this photo as a lesson to photographers. Why they should seek for angles, go to their knees, think about background and foreground, etc.
Another point of criticism might be the framing. The effect you were going for doesn't seem to be finished. It's still a bit too voluntary if you will. I think it would have been nice to get just a little closer to the boat for that 'In your face' kind of impact. This may also have created some depth of field, which might have been interesting with the rock on the background getting a little more blurred.

Thank you so much for your input! Really appreciate it - and I can safely say, that you are dead on with the "in your face" thing: would I be in Krabi now, I would go way nearer in front of the longtail boat with my sigma 10-20mm lens and capture a more dramatic effect.

I am very happy that you like my technique :)

You're welcome :D I'm glad you can appreciate it.
So hell yeah. Wide angles. In such a paradise, who wouldn't want to get the widest angle they got? :D

Haha. No, I'm afraid I can't afford any trips to tropical paradises at the moment ;) It's definitely on my list though :D
